Old men and Cinnamon girls: Gold Rush to All of Neil Young’s Now Music Free Online or Tell Me Why
Longtime critic of MP3s and other musical formats he considers substandard, Neil Young has released an high-quality format his entire back catalog. Young says “The archive” was developed to provide fans and music historians with unprecedented access to all of my music and to my entire archives in one convenient location. The archive, which includes work dating all the way back to his original band The Squires, includes work by Crosby, Stills, and Nash and Crazyhorse, however, some of his work with Buffalo Springfield has yet to be uploaded. (The site promises constant updates.)
The music will be online until at least June 2018, as sometime in the late summer Young intends to launch his own streaming service for music called Xstream; the evolution of a kickstarter project he started in 2014 as part of his ongoing war against MP3s.
