Winners of the 2018 Lambda Literary Awards
Winners of the 2018 Lambda Literary Awards have been announced. The announcement was made at a ceremony in New York to mark the 30th annual awards of Lambda Literary as an organization founded on the mission to affirm, celebrate and preserve lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer literature in the United States.

In her acceptance speech, Roxane Gay said, “As a woman, as a black woman, as a queer woman, writing has offered me salvation and sanctuary.” She added that, “I want queer writers to create work that they want to put into the world, regardless if all of the work does or does not meet the expectations of those who read it.”
